Janet, who suddenly passed away in April, was planning to attend the rededication of the Cherry Tree. After her death Chelmsford Local Meeting were moved to add a dedication to her alongside the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

In attendance at the rededication were Janet's husband, Richard, her children, Lucie and Robin, and Paul Ingram, defence policy analyst and former colleague of Janet's.
