"...And the Fence Came Tumbling Down"
'A tribute to the women of Greenham Common, and the power of holding a dream'

In April 2000, the fence finally came down around Greenham Common air base
in Southern England. This ten-minute film tells the story of how a US Air
Force base with 96 US nuclear cruise missiles came to be returned to the
people after 20 years of nonviolent protest and witness. The production
features dramatic footage and archival material of the women's peace camps
intercut with scenes of the day the fence finally came down. This informative
and inspiring record shows how people power can bring about an historic
transformation.
An information pack for schools, colleges, and community groups accompanies
the film. It contains historical background material, personal histories
of the people directly involved, and suggestions for further exploration
of the issues. To order copies of the film and the accompanying resource
pack, please use the film order
form.
